SPIRITUAL STATE OF THE NATION
2026
Survey
If you had to describe America’s spiritual condition with just one word, what word would you use?
My word: DIRE.
Recent survey numbers give credence to the truth we are seeing played out in our nation right now.
- While 2 out of 3 Americans claim the name Christian, only 4% have a biblical worldview. 32% prefer socialism to capitalism. The atheist and agnostic percentage of the nation’s population today is about one-quarter of all adults . . . and is one of the fastest growing religious segments in the United States.
The success of America—and the decline we’re witnessing today—is directly linked to our nation’s spiritual health.
As trusted Christian influencer George Barna recently said, “Our national moral code is increasingly being shaped by cultural rather than spiritual forces.
“If Christians in America want a nation based on biblical morality, they must be clearer and more assertive in teaching, evaluating, and modeling of the biblical worldview. As matters stand now, the biblical worldview is poised to lose what little ground it currently occupies in America, including an increased loss of influence related to our national morality.”
Through this nationwide survey, your values—and the values of thousands of committed Christian citizens across this country—will be clearly and effectively communicated as we post the results for all to see:
Including President Trump, members of Congress, your state leaders, and media outlets nationwide.
As you return the 2026 Spiritual State of the Nation Annual Survey, I’m counting on you to also include a generous tax-deductible donation of support for Coral Ridge Ministries—to help us remain vigilant teaching a clear biblical worldview in defense of religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, and the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ . . .
Which can—and will—turn the tide for America!
An overwhelming 97% of those who answered Coral Ridge Ministries’ 2025 Spiritual State of the Nation Survey “support President Donald Trump’s policy to deport illegal aliens.”
Similarly, when asked to list the “three most critical issues” facing Congress and the Trump administration, respondents named immigration (55%) and federal spending (40%), followed by religious freedom and national security (both 28%).
Other notable results include:
- 99% want the U.S. to “wholeheartedly support the nation of Israel.”
- 93% oppose giving men/boys permission to participate in female sports, “if they consider themselves to be transgender.”
- 45% said they’ve “experienced verbal or physical abuse or bias” due to their Christian faith or conservative Christian views.
This informal survey is sent annually to friends and supporters of Coral Ridge Ministries. Complete results are shown below and are also being provided to members of Congress, the White House, and key media. While not intended to be statistically rigorous, it offers a general sense of the attitudes and beliefs held by pro-family evangelical Americans.
“At a time when the views of pro-family evangelicals are sometimes distorted, even caricatured, this informal survey provides a much-needed window into what Christian social conservatives actually believe.”
